Weeroona Island Boat Ramp, Weerona Island

Located along North Flinders Esplanade on Weeroona Island, the Weeroona Island Boat Ramp provides access to the waters of Spencer Gulf via a dual-lane concrete ramp. The facility is popular with local boaters and visitors looking for a quieter launching location away from the busier coastal hubs.

Access to the ramp is via a good-quality gravel road, and the ramp is suitable for most vehicles. However, as it is exposed to the open waters of Spencer Gulf, there is little natural protection from wind and weather at the launching area itself. Boaters should also be mindful of tidal conditions, as launching and retrieval are generally best undertaken around high tide. During low tide, access to the water can become limited, potentially leaving vessels stranded until the tide returns.

The site is well maintained and offers a range of practical amenities, including free gas BBQs, sheltered picnic areas, a fish cleaning station, lighting, and ample parking for vehicles and trailers.

Visitors often praise the local community for the care and upkeep of the facility, which adds to the welcoming atmosphere. While there are no toilets directly at the boat ramp, public facilities can be found near the playground on the opposite side of the island.
