The West Beach boat
ramp and pontoon were upgraded in January 2022. The improvements included
replacing the concrete slabs, extending the boat ramp into deeper water,
modifying the inner northern breakwater, and conducting maintenance and
remediation work on the steel piles. These upgrades were made to enhance the
safety of all boat ramp users.
The four-lane concrete
boat ramp is suitable for use in all types of weather and water conditions. It
can get quite busy, so it's advisable to arrive early if you have an important
boating trip planned. Please note that there is limited lighting if you intend
to use the ramp at night.
Convenient parking is
available near the boat ramp, and public toilets are provided, although they
close at 6 PM.
This area is also a
fantastic spot for picnics and enjoying a day at the beach with family and
friends. It’s a great place to bring pets, especially dogs, as the shore
features a large, flat sandy area for animals to run around. Additionally, kids
can safely fish off the breakwater or pontoon.
