This dual-lane
concrete ramp is located on Stony Creek of Bohle River, near Bushland Beach in
the city of Townsville. There is a floating walkway pontoon in between the ramp
lanes for easier launching and retrieving. The top part of both lanes are
designated rigging zones. The access through the creek can be challenging
during low tides. Most boats need more than 1m tide to get through Stony Creek.
The Bohle ramp can get
busy on weekends and holidays, so expect some traffic. The car parks near the
boat ramp are limited so it can be congested during peak days. The majority of
the parking spaces have a dirt base and can get very muddy during rainy periods.
Parking for the long term is prohibited since it can be difficult for other
boaters to reverse down the ramp.
There are no available
facilities in the ramp which also means that there is no security in the area.
Do not leave any valuables in the car, lock your trailers, and avoid leaving
your car at the ramp if you’re planning for an overnight trip.
