You can find the Brownbill Reserve boat ramp near the dam wall Laanecoorie Lakeside Resort at the northern end of the Laanecoorie Reservoir.

The old launching spot has been permanently closed and replaced with a new, robust single-lane concrete ramp located approximately 160 meters to the west.

This upgrade includes a spacious gravel parking area that accommodates 12 cars and trailers. These improvements significantly reduce congestion and enhance safety for swimmers. The new grooved concrete ramp also ensures access to water levels of about 50%, while the gravel parking area is designed to efficiently hold 12 car-trailer units.

The old facility is no longer accessible for boat launches; however, it still serves as a convenient spot for paddlers to launch their kayaks and canoes. The existing parking area will continue to be available for boaters, paddlers, and anglers fishing from the shore, and it is just a short walk away from the new ramp.

Laanecoorie Reservoir is located at the back of the Loddon River, near Dunolly. On a busy summer day, the reservoir can accommodate up to 200 visitors who come to enjoy various water activities. Fishing is a popular pastime throughout the year, while families often engage in skiing, towing donuts, and sailing during the warmer months.

Free camping is available at Laanecoorie River Recreation Reserve. It’s conveniently located along a gravel road that runs alongside the Loddon River, making it an ideal spot for your outdoor adventure. Enjoy ample space, a dedicated area for tents, and plenty of room for caravans and motorhomes. The campground is equipped with multiple picnic tables, wood-fired barbecues, water taps, rubbish bins, and toilets.
