The Kimbolton Boat Ramp is located along the shores of Lake Eppalock within the Kimbolton Recreation Area; access to the ramp is via a 1.5-kilometre dirt road. It features a dual-lane concrete ramp that offers straightforward access to the water. The shoreline here is relatively shallow, making it particularly suitable for launching kayaks, small tinnies, and lightweight boats.

Lake Eppalock is a well-known destination for boating, water sports, swimming, and relaxed days by the water. It’s also a favourite among anglers, with Golden Perch, Redfin, Trout, and Murray Cod commonly targeted throughout the year. Beyond fishing, the area attracts visitors for bushwalking, picnics, and family gatherings.

Facilities within the recreation area include undercover picnic tables and barbecue stations, along with additional picnic tables spread across the grassy surrounds. Toilet amenities are located a short walk up the hill from the main picnic area. A large car park sits close to the water near the ramp, providing  a wide informal dirt parking space for vehicles and trailers.

The ramp area is equipped with solar lighting and generally remains uncrowded, except during peak periods such as public holidays. Dogs are permitted in the area but must remain on a leash at all times and are not allowed in the water. Camping and caravan park facilities can also be found around the lake for those planning a longer stay.

Overall, Kimbolton offers a practical and relaxed access point to Lake Eppalock, well suited to casual boating, fishing, and family outings.
