The Mordialloc Boat
Ramp, accessed through Governor Road, is quite a small ramp that provides small
craft access to Port Phillip Bay. It is designed only for small boats because
the railway bridge overhead restricts the size of vessels that can pass
through. Furthermore, the water is too shallow for larger boats during low
tide.
This two-lane concrete
boat ramp has a small docking area for tying boats when retrieving and
preparing them to load back to the trailer. The ramp can be extremely busy
during the summer season.
The Ramp underwent a
major upgrade in 2022. The enhancement involved adding a new pontoon for
disability access with a drop-off area, replacing the old pontoons with a
concrete pontoon, dredging around the ramp for better clearance during all tide
conditions, and providing more car and trailer parking spots.
There are public
toilets and a boat wash-down area provided. The boat ramp (as it is with all
boat ramps in Victoria) is free to use, as is the parking area as well.

If you are looking to
buy boats or need to upgrade your boat engine, look no further than Melbourne Marine Centre (a Stacer and
Northbank boats, Mercury marine engines, and a Bargain Boat Bits dealership)
they are approximately a 14-minute drive from the Boat Ramp. You can easily
trailer your boat to the dealership and back to the ramp without much
inconvenience. You can also buy a boat trailer, marine gear, fishing supplies,
and boating equipment from well-known brands.
