The Newhaven boat
ramp, located on Phillip Island, serves as a vital component of the Western
Port boat ramp network. It features a two-lane concrete ramp, a jetty for easy
access to the water and ample parking for
visitors. This setup makes it an ideal destination for boating enthusiasts.
Boaters use the ramp
all year, with increased activity from spring to early autumn. It is popular
with recreational fishers and boaters, especially on weekends and public
holidays.
The upgrade of the
ramp is currently in the works. This upgrade addresses several issues,
including limited space and suboptimal configuration for berthing and tie-up
points, insufficient car-trailer unit parking, tidal restrictions at low tide,
and accessibility challenges related to the jetty.
Additionally, the site
offers fish cleaning and boat wash facilities and is located adjacent to a
yacht club and a marina. Like all boat ramps in Victoria, the Newhaven boat
ramp is free to use.
There are plenty of
seagulls and pelicans surrounding the ramp so watch out for them!
Like all boat ramps in
Victoria, this ramp is free to use.
