Pallarenda Boat Ramp, Townsville

3 The Esplanade, Pallarenda, QLD 4810
Pallarenda Boat Ramp, Townsville 0/50
Pallarenda Boat Ramp

The Pallarenda Boat Ramp features a concrete 3-lane ramp is located at the end of Caper Pallarenda Road, just before the entrance to the National Park in Townsville.

The ramp is in a great spot for easy access to Cape Pallarenda, West Point, Middle Reef, and Cockle Bay. It's mostly meant for small boats and 4WD vehicles. The ramp is solid and made of concrete, leading right down to the beach. However, it doesn’t have any break-walls or protection from the open ocean, which usually means there's a thick layer of soft sand at the top. Because of that, you'll really need a 4WD to get your boat and trailer in and out without trouble. Plus, the ramp has a pretty shallow angle. Very exposed to the weather and rough seas.

One downside is that there are no convenient amenities available at the boat ramp.  There is ample parking and it has a beautiful view.

If you're looking to purchase a boat or upgrade your boat engine, consider Rising Sun Marine. They are a 19-minute drive from the ramp and offer Quintrex boats, Yamaha engines, and Bargain Boat Bits. You can easily trailer your boat to the dealership and back to the ramp without spending too much time. They also sell boat trailers, marine gear, fishing supplies, and boating equipment from well-known brands.
