The Warmies Boat Ramp in
Newsport is a recently upgraded two-lane concrete ramp provided by the Victorian
government. This ramp offers a great launching point for accessing Port Phillip
Bay, as well as the Yarra and Maribyrnong estuaries. The calm conditions at
this location make it easy to launch a boat for most of the year. Additionally,
there are jetties on both sides of the ramp, allowing for easy access for
docking.
It is located in the
suburb of Newport and by the Warmies fishing hotspot. It is sometimes referred
to as Williamstown Boat Ramp since it’s located near Williamstown.
There are plenty of
car park spaces for cars and trailers but they fill up easily as it’s a popular
location for anglers and boaters. During the summer holidays, the ramp can get
packed.
From spring to early
autumn, snappers are abundant in this area.
Facilities such as
toilets, fish cleaning tables, rubbish bins, and wash areas are available. There
is a walkway near the ramp where visitors can stroll. Overall, the area
provides pleasant scenery that makes it a nice place to spend some quiet
time alone or with family/mates.
