Have you ever lately felt like it’s a chore to get in
your Stacer boat,
and you have to drag yourself along to your boat and do boating activities on autopilot?
Do you ever find your mind wandering elsewhere while you’re onboard? Have you
ever felt like you’re in a funk?
Maybe you’re just getting bored of boating and you need to
do something to get out of this funk. It’s totally normal to be feeling like
this, you’ve established these activities as part of your regular routine and
doing the same things over and over can cease its appeal and excitement.
If you’re going through this feeling, you can do something
to get rid of your boredom. First, know what’s the root cause of your boredom.
Does it feel too routinary or something negative happened during your boating
adventures that makes it lose its spark? Maybe you’ve developed a new hobby,
and boating seems old and boring.
Well, whatever your reason is, this article will try to
figure out ways more closely to the causes of your boredom and come up with
suggestions to fight it.
Do Some Watersports (If You Haven’t Done It Before)
Do you have a routine that you always do when you’re out on
the water? Have you never tried any new activities? Maybe that’s the reason why
you’re feeling down and antsy. Maybe all you need to do is to switch things up
and try new activities.
If you don’t do any of these activities, you could
incorporate these with your routinary activities:
- Fishing: If you love the water, but you’ve never
tried fishing, now could be a great time to pick it up. If you need to train
your mind to concentrate more, do some reflection, and extend your patience,
this activity is good for you. If you need a more challenging fishing activity,
you can also try sports fishing.
- Water sports: Water sports are perfect for you
if you prefer a more thrilling activity that makes your heart race a mile and
involves a lot of physical activity.
- Scuba diving and snorkelling: There’s an entire
majestic world down in the deep blue ocean that you can see through scuba
diving and snorkelling.
Explore Hidden Spots
Have you been cruising and boating and fishing around the
same areas and never venturing out to other places that you’ve never visited?
Maybe all you need is a different view. Going to new and strange places may be
intimidating but if you’re dead set on continuing your boating hobby, then cast
aside your fear of the unknown and take the first step on going to new areas
every time you take your boat out on the water. Start at nearby places where
your usual areas are and gradually travel to other places. You’ll be surprised
to find amazing locations that you’ve never seen before. Maybe this is the
excitement you need in your life.
Invite Some Company
Maybe you’re spending too much time alone boating. Kill the
boredom by inviting your mates to go on boating adventures with you. Not only
do you get to experience exciting activities but you’ll also get to have a
gabfest and strengthen your bond with each other. If none of your mates is
available, bring along your family and spend some quality time together by
visiting new and exciting destinations. You can also join a boat club near you to
meet new people who share your interests.
Get a New Boat
Maybe it’s not you, but the boat that is making you feel
stuck. Maybe you’re getting antsy about having to use the dear old boat that’s
been with you for a long time. If that’s the case, it’s time to get a new boat…
if you can afford to. You can either get a model or type of boat that’s
different from your current boat and keep the old one or you can sell the
current one and buy something new or swap your boat for another model. You can
peruse both new and used boats in marine boat shops.
Take a Sabbatical
Okay, so you’ve done all the things suggested above. And
you’ve even bought a new boat but unfortunately, it didn’t do anything to bring
the spark back to your love for boating. Maybe all you need is a break. You might
have the compulsion to go boating regularly especially if you’re paying
expenses in docking and memberships.
Taking a break might be actually good for you. It helps you
break away from your boating habits and not doing boating activities makes you
miss them so you’ll look forward to boating again with enthusiasm. This is also
a great opportunity to come up with some new ideas and break the routines that
were making you stagnant.
